 The second of two paintings depicting this iconic scene. It shows the super J Ranger leading the fleet downwind with parachute spinnakers drawing on the second leg of this iconic race in Buzzards Bay. To port of Ranger is Rainbow going really well ,while Endeavour with her old style spinnaker is in third Endeavour ll has had difficulties setting her spinnaker and has dropped back a little this enables Yankee to take advantage of her troubles and catch her. Ranger went on to lead the fleet home with Rainbow a good second.
